Welcome to the Short Trauma and Anxiety Research (STAR) Lab in the Institute for Trauma Recovery (ITR)! Our work focuses on the etiology, prevention, and treatment of trauma and anxiety-related disorders, focusing on cognitive-behavioral risk factors and the translation of these factors into effective technology-based interventions. Led by clinical psychologist Dr. Nicole Short, we collaborate with the ITR to refine a biopsychosocial model of how individuals recover after traumatic stress, particularly sexual assault, and develop effective interventions to promote recovery after trauma.
